Government departments and agencies, banking and finance, and distribution companies represented the major computer users (54%) in Malaysia ini 1982. Most of the computers were used for routine applications such as general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, invoicing, inventory control, and sales analysis and reporting. The majority of the computers (57%) were operated for less than 300 hours per month.
